“The 13-year-Old Daughter of the U.S. Economy – The Ultimate Drama Queen.”

That headline is a quote from Chris Thornberg, who last week addressed the Sacramento Sierra chapter of the Appraisal Institute.  In his address he reminded Appraisers that there is a big difference between a recession and a depression, “We’re in the midst of what I would call a nasty recession,” he said. “Like a bad cold, you’ll get over it.”

Thornburg was talking about the U.S. Stock market when he reffered to the teenager drama queen, and said the U.S economy is along way from a depression.

The media is having a hey-day reporting all the bad news, but there are lots of good news  stories out there if you look for them!

Health care, education, public infrastructure and clean energy and green technology are four “stars” of strength in the greater Sacramento area.

…And homes keep selling. In the first eigteen days of January, the ti-county area of Sacramento. El Dorado and Placer counties saw 1676 homes go into escrow!
